So, we did get to build a couple of things this summer. One was a playhouse.
See what good painters all of the kids are?
They each had their own color and got to paint one side of the house.
Evan had blue, Brayden green, Andrew yellow, and Addison pink
Evan got the side with the tallest wall.
These two babies were just super cute in their "paint" clothes. They loved doing this.
So, now for the tour.
This is what you see when you enter the front door. . . pirate ship side of the playhouse.
This is the front with the table and window up,
This is the front with the table and the window down. The kids like to play restaurant with these two options.
This is the back wall from the two angles. The shapes are on hinges and swing back and forth so they can throw bean bags through the shapes.
This is the view from the front other side. I made it the easy way with the slanted roof and "parent peep holes" in the top. The roof is a blue plastic which is usually used for outdoor overhangs or what not, but it is nice to also let light in.
Oh, and the last two walls inside. . .
One is a chalk board. Used chalk board paint. The kids love it.
And a picture of the "restaurant' wall. There is a peg board with baskets to keep their plastic food and dishes. It's again, fun for the kids!
I enjoyed making this playhouse to fit my kids' personality and what they like to do. It has been nice for them.
The other thing that I did this summer was make a giant picnic table!!
It turned out really well, but it is tricky because not only is it a large table, but it also is best used as. . .
BENCHES!!!! I think it actually works better as benches. Learned a lot from this project.
Wel, that was it for the building projects this summer.
