Halloween 2010

Halloween this year was full of parties, parties, and more parties. It was a lot of fun.

This is Evan's school party/parade. It was cold outside and they still made the kids march outside. Horrible people. We were freezing. The class was cute though. Evan is on the far left in the pteranadon costume. It was a little small for him, but the only pteranadon costume I could fine. I may have had better luck making it. . . oh well. He liked it enough.



After Evan's school party we hurried home to finish the preparations for our party. We held it out in our garage, and it was full of fun games and fun food.


These are our "brains" no one would eat them for awhile. . . I finally sliced one open so they would see that it was just watermelon. Funny. Brayden loved them and almost ate a complete brain by himself on Sunday afternoon when we had dinner with the sister missionaries. They thought it was funny he kept asking for "more brain please". So proud.



The are my yummy cinnamon rolls. Just wanted to make them so I made them Halloweenish.


These are our witches fingers. They were the most popular with the kids. Gone quickly.


This is part of our garage. I didn't get a shot before hand, but it looked pretty cool. Josh even blew up 120 balloons for me and they were all over the floor. They were part of a game, so they were all popped and cleaned up before the night was over.


This is another part of our game. It was digging for worms. I learned a lot here. . .3 and 4 year olds really should use their hands while older kids diving in with their mouths is just fine. They enjoyed it.

Another part of the same game was this mummy wrap. I was so IMPRESSED with the Cobb family representatives. Those two boys did FABULOUS!! A mother couldn't be any prouder!! Watch and see how well they did.







They ended up getting second place which was so great as they were the youngest team.

This was their prize! They were thrilled to get to pick this witch. They wanted her when I bought her as a prize, so for them to get her was just great!! I really was SO PROUD of those two kids!!!


This was part of our scavenger hunt. It's the graveyard.

It was dark by the time they went out, we had a light shining on the graveyard so they could see it. It turned out well.


This was my favorite part. We leveled a path through our "forest" behind our house. It's really weeds, but it was really cool.


This was what the path led to. They also had a light shining on them. Those teeth on the ground glowed in the dark and shone great in the light. Each team was suppose to bring back an item from each place they visited with their specific number on it. It was quite funny how many teeth we found on the ground the next day that still had numbers on them. I'm pretty sure the first three teams actually had their correct number when they returned. . . I may not have been as vigilant after 1st, 2nd and 3rd place were taken. Still, it made me think about it.


This is the trashed pumpkin patch. Between a little rain before the party and all the kids trampling through the paper pumpkins didn't fair well. They were good for the moment though.


This is Matilda. She really is a part of our family. She was hung in the "witches hut" and would cackle when they opened the door. I was told it was the most scariest of places they visited.

I would have a picture of our pirate ship, but it was really lame and I was fully aware of that. I didn't put as much thought into it as some of the other areas.

It was a great scavenger hunt. It was a great party!! Thanks for coming everyone!

The next night was the ward Trunk or treat. These are before pictures.

This is our family this year. We originally planned on Toy Story 3 characters. . . but over time eveyone kinda changed their minds so we went with it. Just a hodge podge of costumes. It was fun to get to dress in my witch costume again!!

The kids got a great amount of candy, so they were happy.

Halloween morning I made these pancakes for the kids to say Happy Halloween.


We also had the sister missionaries over and just enjoyed the day. It was a good day overall!

Twins 11 months old!

This is Addison once she sees the camera!! As you will see in some of the following photos my babies have become quite fond of the camera. They know to smile!! So cute.



Cute little scientist. She didn't really like these on, but paused for her picture for one moment. I was glad I got the one shot because she only gave me one chance.


So cute. What can I say.


I think they are getting cuter the older they get.


Addison isn't the only one who likes to smile for the camera. . . Andrew is also a pro. so sweet and handsome.

The 11th month brought a lot of fun foods for my babies. They got to eat Chocolate cake on Brayden's birthday.


Chicken on a bone. . . also for Brayden's birthday.


Even while eating they smile for the camera!!


Their first beaters. I whipped some whip cream for our party. . . they were the lucky recipients of the beaters. They loved them.


Overall the 11th month was a good month. They grew, had fun, tried new things, and overall laughed an cried a lot. They are so much fun and we love having them. Addison now has four teeth, Andrew still has seven. Can't believe they are almost one. . . that will be a blog.

Brayden is now 4!!

What a DAY!!! Three years old is a great age! I really like three year old's. I'm always apprehensive that as they turn four they are slipping away and growing up TOOOOOO fast.

It was his last picture as a three year old. See how cute!!


This is one of the things that we did after he went to sleep. So when he woke up in the morning he would be surprised!


He was. He thought it was great!!


Grandma and Grandpa Dance send birthday clothes. Knowing this I had him open that present before he got dressed so he could wear his new outfit. Great video. Brayden is always so pleased with what someone gives him that it is fun to watch.

During the day he watched a movie I had rented for him. We waited for Evan to get home, then went and picked up Josh and went to the mall's bounce house play area. He's always wanted to go and this was a good day to do it. He and Evan played for an hour and there are no pictures because half way to the mall I remembered I had forgotten my camera. Just picture Brayden running and jumping and laughing and that should cover it!!

Once we got home he finally got to open his presents.

This is from Grandma and Grandpa Dance. They send a toy too. BTW, he liked the wrapping paper.






This present was "from" Evan. He got to wrap it up at least!! It has a really great and classic Brayden reaction. Especially since the package contained something he had been asking for - flying frogs.






This is a turtle that projects stars on the ceiling. Lately he's really been into having some source of light in his room while he goes to sleep. This was a big hit as you will see in the last couple of pictures.


A game we haven't played yet but he's sure to love.


This card is from Grandpa and Grandma Cobb. He had just opened another card with four one dollar bills in it from my parents (video operator malfunction on that video), and this one was next. (p.s. Thanks for remembering his birthday with all the other things you guys have going on. We are praying for you guys.)

Especially since this was his big present for this year. A remote control T-Rex. It's pretty cool. Slow (so they say), but cool. He loves it.


This is what he requested for dinner. He LOVES chicken legs. He can eat and eat and eat them. He really loves just eating chicken off the bone. So funny.


This is the cake he requested. A frog cake. He also got a John Deere party hat and cake plates. Pretty happy boy.

Some friends came over to have cake and ice cream with us and they brought Brayden this present. Thanks Elmer's.

Now my Brayden is four. . . he still gives really good hugs and still is a pretty good helper. We'll see what the next year brings!! Happy Birthday Brayden. We love you!!!

FHE Service race

Evan had the lesson last night. I asked him what he wanted to teach on and he couldn't think of anything so I had him think of something he heard in Conference. He remembered they talked about service, so he wanted to do something for service. We had just finished, about two weeks ago, a game called "the biggest looser" which involves service, pennies and prizes. So he was worried that we had already done service. So we talked about it and came up with this service race. We picked four tasks, one for each member participating, and each person would work on that task for two minutes then we would yell "SWITCH" and the family would rotate tasks. It was pretty fun and we learned a couple of valuable lessons: 1. Service doesn't have to take a long time, and 2. when we work together as a family we are AWESOME!! We got the dishes done, the floor swept and mopped, the laundry put away, and pictures of it all!! It only took us 8 minutes!!

It was fun and so nice to have all those chores done!!!

Stitches, stitches, stitches

So, Sunday our internet wasn't working. Did I want to get upset that I was missing part of conference, or did I just want to re-arrange my living room and hope it was back up by the time I was done? So, I picked the later. This led to a new way to get in and out of our living room. We have to move our little couch in order to enter or leave unless you are tall enough to step over. We have babies we need to keep trapped in, so this is what we did. Anyway, there came a point later in the day when Evan was not happy with a decision that was made so he shared his opinion in an inappropriate way which led to his being sent to time out. He never made it. Next thing I hear is a crying boy. As he got up he was bleeding bad and I had to figure out where it was coming from. I found a gaping cut in the bottom of his chin and we walked straight out the door to the car and proceeded to drive the twenty-five minutes it takes to the hospital where he walked away with three stitches inside the wound, and seven outside to close it up. We were only in the ER for an hour and a half, impressive really, but he was a really good boy and was very brave. Hopefully this trend doesn't continue. . . He had stitches in his eyebrow just before he turned three, now again at age six. Will it be the end? Hopefully, but probably not.

Braydenism #1

So Brayden is always coming up with the funniest things. We laugh at them for days between Josh and myself but some are just too funny not to share. So before I forget here is one we just loved.

Brayden was running circles in the living room the other day. Josh walked in and Brayden declared, "It sure is hard to run with one leg and walk with the other". He still hasn't got it mastered!! :)
