So, we went to Watkins Glen state park last Saturday. It was a Stake activity so there were a few people there that we knew! We decided to go on a hike in the morning when we first got there. Then we waited patiently for lunch to be served. It was scheduled for 12 noon, a good time to eat, but as it got closer, they changed it to 12:30. . . not so good for the kids. They were getting a little restless at that point. It worked out eventually because time didn't stand still, but it seemed to be the longest half hour of the whole day!
After lunch we took the kids swimming in the pool there. Unfortunately the water was cold and the sun was hiding, which really wasn't a surprise since this area isn't really used to seeing it all that much. So we didn't stay in long. It was fun though, and the hike was beautiful!! It was nice having an extra set of hands to help with the twins, thanks John. Three adults to four kids was a great ratio!!
This is cute Brayden. He just couldn't get that hat to sit on his head correctly.
Brayden was suppose to be taking a picture here, I took the picture, but he was busy with something else.
Josh thinks this is such a wonderful portrayal of our kids. Brayden being silly, Evan helping and trying hard, Andrew giving a cute smile he is trying to actually hold in, and Addison looking at us like we are all crazy and why is she doing any of this. It's a cute photo of the kids though.
Here is a picture of the view. Addison LOVED looking at the view over the edge. It was getting old trying to get her to move on, or trying to get her to not look so far over. She is cute saying, "wow, andoiopwen;laskhd" I don't know what it all meant, but she was cute.

Here is another picture of the rocks and water winding through.
Evan found this great hole to take a picture through. This was actually our turn around point. It was a great hike and we will probably do it again next time we go. Really a beautiful area.
ps. (for my sisters who care) we could actually hear the NASCAR cars zooming around the track while we were on the first part of our hike. I know the track is near, but didn't think that close. I count it as having attended a NASCAR event.
